"I felt very strongly that January to March was a very, very important season for this nation, that much of the future of this nation would be decided not in November, not even in October or September, but would be decided between January to March of 2012" --Rick Ridings DC Word, Jan. 13
Just before Purim, God is calling Washington DC like Esther--for such a time as this!
From Iran threats to the economy, challenges are on all fronts. But in the midst of crisis, there is a unique stirring of hope that can only come from Jesus! It's time to come together in uncommon unity and uncommon prayer for our communities, and for our Capitol. It's time to take seriously our responsibility to pray for our President and the First Family.
Here's a question. When else in history, when else in your life, does prayer for breakthrough in Washington DC make so much sense?
We will come with repentance, we will come with intercession, but above all we will come with celebration for the incredible victories Jesus is granting. As in the days of Esther and Nehemiah, we will find a new beginning for God's people. We will see a recommissioning of God's dream--for our Capitol city and for America!
In their time and ours, a Sacred Assembly opens the door. See you on March 3! |
PURIM & THE SACRED ASSEMBLY
It's no coincidence that the Capitol Cry Sacred Assembly is being held the weekend before Purim. This sacred Jewish holiday honors the courageous intercessory stand made by Esther to preserve her people.
We strongly feel that Washington DC is being called as Esther for this same stand at our time of history!
In Esther's day, her people faced an existential threat at the hands of Haman. Today a modern Haman is again determined to wipe both Israel and the United States off the map.
Purim begins with a fast at sundown, March 6, through the evening of March 7. The celebration begins March 7 at sundown through March 8.

DC Burn March 2-3, 7pm-10am | Int'l Ethiopian Evangelical Church
Congregation after congregation has recently been stirred to pray for our communities, for our Capitol, and for our President. A holy awakening is now beginning to encompass Washington, DC!
Recognizing God's unusual work, we invite you to join with believers across the metro DC region for a Sacred Assembly on March 3, 2012. Time and location TBA.
Every biblical move of restoration began with such a gathering. Today our city faces unprecedented challenges, but together we can see renewal. Together we can build a Throne for God's presence. And together we can secure His protection and provision for the future!
Those who are spiritually aware may note a sense of urgency to this invitation. We don't know why--but it is there. Near the time of Purim, God is summoning His people together. Maybe you are in the Kingdom for such a time as this!
The Capitol Cry Sacred Assembly was birthed out of a recent prophetic word by Rick Ridings for Washington DC. Rick called regional leaders to 52 days of prayer and a sacred assembly, in DC, by DC, for DC, by March 4. "I felt very strongly that January to March was a very, very important season for this nation, that much of the future of this nation would be decided not in November, not even in October or September, but would be decided between January to March of 2012..." Recommissioning God's dream for DC
Remember David, Solomon, Josiah, Esther and Nehemiah. Every biblical move of restoration began with a sacred assembly! Today our city faces unprecedented challenges, but together we can see renewal. Together we can build a Throne for God's presence. And together we can secure His protection and provision for the future.
The first key in releasing awakening and transformation is restoring covenant with God. As we realign corporately with His covenant, He wil recommission His dream for Washington DC.
March 3! Abraham Lincoln and Sacred Assembly
On March 3, 1863, the Senate passed a resolution requesting that President Lincoln call for a National Day of Prayer and Humiliation. "To humble ourselves before the offended Power, to confess our national sins, and pray for clemency and forgiveness."
This March 3, we truly enter a convergence... where heritage becomes destiny!
